What is Metal Injection Molding? Metal Injection Molding (MIM) is a relatively new technology and is often mistakenly compared with press and sinter powder metallurgy or die casting. MIM is a unique and superior process in many ways -- offering lower production costs, greater design freedom, higher tolerances, and ultimate flexibility and reliability. In fact, tolerances of +/-.002" are commonplace.
